The Inquisition answers to no one but the Emperor, and even Him only in their own conscience. Its Inquisitors carry rosette and writ that compel governors, generals and Chapter Masters alike. Three great Ordos hunt three eternal foes — the Ordo Malleus the daemon, the Ordo Xenos the alien, the Ordo Hereticus the heretic — and a hundred smaller chambers chase shadows the rest of the Imperium dares not name.
